Jay-Z "Ain't I" prod. Timbaland [Previously Unreleased]

This Jay-Z track leaked today courtesy of DJ Clue. It's an old sounding Timbo beat, lots of percussion and a nice bounce. Cool track, apparently from Blueprint 3? If so id be surprised... but who knows. Enjoy it either way!

MTV News says it's an old unreleased joint not new material.

Not Many Chins

found this on youtube today. cracked me up

MPC 5000

I just got news of Akai's latest MPC, the 5000. "Wow a new MP!! and its big! Cool!!". At first glance the dopest new features seem to be the 8 track hard disk recorder, which you can use to record your separated tracks inside the box before exporting them to your computer for mixing. [This is the shit for me, cos I hate tracking my beats out of the old MPC2KXL... it's a slow process tracking 2 at a time through my soundcard and I can never get the midi sync to work properly.] Plus there's the addition of a 22 Voice Virtual Analog Synth. This will surely be handy when you wanna add a bass line or synth parts to sampled beats. But I'll reserve judgement on how useful it really is until I hear all the sounds it can make.
A major addition I was expecting to see was more sophisticated computer/DAW integration. Why can't I use the MPC as a plug-in instrument and external midi controller with the MP's hard drive accesible via firewire?? Obvious shit if you ask me. And that's one major oversight that could have taken this machine from "wow thats cool" to "I must have one of these". I mean USB 2.0? Come on! Im gonna be tracking all my beats inside the box and exporting it all via USB, or burning a CDR? Hopefully it works fast, other wise no points for Akai on that one.

I could go on for days discussing the pros and cons but I'll wait til I get my hands on one for further analysis.
For now watch the video below and learn a bit more about this bad guy. [And ponder in amazement as to why they use a synth based/dance music composition to demonstrate the features of a machine that is synonymous with hip-hop!]

PNC - a psychic medium?? you decide!

Check Track 7 on PNC's Rookie Card album and you will find a song entitled 'Dead Pioneers'. The title is a play on words referencing the common american slang term for money (and Jay-Z song title) 'Dead Presidents'. Of course in New Zealand not all the iconic faces gracing our currency belong to deceased individuals. Up until recently Sir Edmund Hillary and The Queen of England have both been amongst the living! So... was the title of PNC's song simply a careless oversight? Or was it an eerie prediction of grim future events?!?!? You be the judge! For now we can only wait and wonder... could the Queen be next?

RIP Sir ED.

Dope New Artist - Small World

Small World - Mr. Magnificent ft. Ludacris (DTP)

Superman Dat Hoe

Urban Dictionary’s website defines the term as the following: “when you ejaculate on a girls back then put a blanket on her so when she stands up the blanket sticks therefore making her look like she has a cape.”

I am MEGA late on this but LMAO anyway...

UPDATE: courtesy Urban Dictionary.com
"Crank Dat: Crank dat refers to the act of masturbation, as indicated by the lyrics "watch me "crank dat" soldier boy then superman that hoe" ie; Watch me crank dat soldier boy then superman dat hoe...OR...watch me masturbate my erect penis then ejaculate on this promiscuous woman's back before sticking a sheet to the soiled spot on her back causing an eventual cape-like effect."

whoa
